Multi-Instrumentalist

Gabriel grew up playing blues guitar and drew much of his inspiration from Jimi Hendrix. He later picked up a few other stringed instruments like the dulcimer, jouhikko, and cello. At one point, he was planning on becoming an ethnomusicologist. And although he would ultimately choose visual anthropology as his passion, he still has a deep love for world instruments and diverse musical traditions.

While Gabriel was attending undergrad, he started taking music technology courses such as: audio recording, MIDI composition, electronic music, etc. These classes not only taught him important technical skills in recording, mixing, and mastering; they allowed him to expand his creativity to new realms of audio manipulation and sound design.
